Find a Grave

How to Find a Grave When You Do Not Know the Location

If you do not know the grave location, start with the deceased name. If that does not work, use the date of death in the Grave Location Estimator, then contact Kubur Search if you need help narrowing it down.

First, search by name

Use Kubur Search to search by the deceased name. Name search only works for graves where a name has already been saved or contributed to our records, so a missing name does not always mean the grave is not there.

If there are many similar names, open the likely result and check cemetery, block, plot, and any available details before sharing it with family.

If the name is not found, use the date of death

If you know the date of death but not the block or plot, try the Grave Location Estimator. It uses burial patterns in Singapore Muslim cemeteries to suggest likely burial areas.

The estimator is a guide, not an official confirmation. It is most useful for narrowing the search before asking for physical grave-finding help.

If the grave may be old or exhumed

Older blocks may have been exhumed. Kubur Search currently lists affected Muslim cemetery exhumation phases covering burial years from 1973 through 2009. If the family remembers an old block, old plot number, or old cemetery area, check the exhumed blocks list. For official latest relocation details after exhumation, contact NEA.

When to ask Kubur Search for help

If you have tried name search and the estimator but still cannot identify the exact grave, WhatsApp us the deceased name, date of death, suspected cemetery, family notes, and any old photos or documents.

We can advise what is realistically searchable, whether the estimator result looks useful, and whether physical grave-finding help may be needed.

FAQ

Sometimes. Name search works when that name has already been saved or contributed to a grave record. If the name is not found, try searching with fewer words, alternate spellings, or use the Grave Location Estimator if you know the date of death.
